Seoul-based Studio GAON designed the 'House of Respect and Happiness,' a project wherein the title and concept was chosen by the newlywed clients. The two concepts are integral to the type of life the couple wishes to build together. The last component of the design was to be a strong emphasis on education.
The architects worked with raw concrete to build this contemporary home, which is comprised of two buildings: a single-storey living space and two-storey library segment that can be used for study, contemplation and learning.
The decision to divide the house into two separate blocks was made to ensure that the home was cozy, while the library boasts more space and higher ceilings that encourage and facilitate better work habits.
