Fall is finally here and that means it's time for autumnally appropriate cocktails like hot cider. This recipe from Refiner29 moves beyond your standard mug, allowing you to enjoy some boozy beverages out of an edible vessel sure to stay in the minds of any guests you might be entertaining. Why use a cup when you can drink the hot cider straight out of an apple?
You will need apples, lemon wedges, apple juice, rum (or brandy), cinnamon sticks, cloves, lemon zest and orange peels for garnish. You can set aside your halved and cored apples while you combine the rest of the ingredients in a simmering pot. Once you have poured in the mixture, you can top things off with extra cinnamon sticks and cloves.
