Wunder's White Christmas Provides a Break from Holiday Advertising
Laura McQuarrie — December 18, 2019 — Marketing
Just after Halloween and throughout November and December, consumers are inundated with holiday advertising wherever they are—but a Canadian creative agency called Wunder decided to gift people a break from all the noise with its White Christmas campaign. During one of the busiest shopping times of the year, the agency purchased prime advertising spots in Halifax—including billboards, as well as newspaper, radio and social ads.
The holiday campaign introduces all-white "ads" that are free from images or text, offering completely blank spaces that don't promote any product or brand.
As Wunder describes, "As a creative agency we typically spend our time creating ads and promoting brands, but this year we decided to do the opposite and give everyone a break from ads during the holiday season."
