The 'Here on Biz' app from Virgin America is calling itself the first "geo-aware rolodex," making it easy to conduct in-flight social networking.
To get started on Here on Biz, travellers must log in with a LinkedIn account. Travellers will be able to begin making connections when they arrive at a gate, or when they are connected to Wi-Fi provided by Gogo at over 35,000 feet in the air while flying. The free-to-download app from Virgin America is optimized with Gogo and its usage comes at no extra cost to travellers.
Users are able to make connections with other travellers flying by Virgin America, as well as other travellers headed to the same destination. Virgin America plans to have this feature integrated into all domestic flights by the end of the month.
