The Hennessey Venom GT Car is Extremely Fast
Jennifer Paul — March 6, 2014 — Autos
The Hennessey Venom GT Car can whip right by you with its lightning speed. The American Sports car is unofficially claimed as the world's fastest production car. It reached speeds of 270.49 mph at the Kennedy Space Center. The Hennessey Venom GT Car is faster than Bugatti Veyron Super Sport’s car which hold the previous record at 269.86 mph.
NASA allowed Hennessey Performance Engineering to use its 3.2 mile long space shuttle landing runway in order to see the vehicle's speed ability. This allowed the super sports car enough room to accelerate to nearly the speed of light.
Hennessey announced in 2010 that it only planned to create 29 Venom GTs and it has created 11 to date. The Hennessey Venom GT Car has a base price of $1.2 million. The vehicle is powered by a twin-turbocharged, v8 engine that has a horsepower of 1,244 bhp. Each car must be custom-ordered by the individual and it takes six months to build.
