Fashion Designer Couture To Promote MAC Hello Kitty Cosmetics

When you take adorably girlie brands like Hello Kitty and make it over to infuse a little more edge, you probably wouldn't expect to see creative results as punk and gothic as these fashions.
Sanrio partnered with MAC cosmetics (who have previously had a Barbie cosmetics line as well) on limited edition makeup which hits stores mid-February. To celebrate, MAC hired designers Blumarine, Herve Leger, Catherine Malandrino, Charlotte Ronson, Elie Saab, Kai Kuhne, Rosa Cha, Ruffian, Tadashi Shoji, The Blonds, threeasFOUR, Tibi, Vicente Villarin, Giles, Sinha Stanic, Dress 33, Emmanuel Ungaro, Manish Arora, Bumseok Choi, Qiu Hao, Zimmerman, Kate Sylvester and Shu Chi Huang to concoct Hello Kitty-inspired couture pieces for a joint fashion show with V Magazine earlier this month in New York.
The pieces are currently being auctioned on eBay with proceeds going to the Fashion Institute of Technology. Most pieces are currently listed around $200, which is not bad, although they still have 9 days to go.
