The Telus Health for Good initiative aims to provide marginalized communities across Canada with free healthcare access. Recognizing Canada's universal healthcare system and various benefits, the initiative aims to remind marginalized communities and those living on the street about their human right to medical examination and treatment.
Looking to connect "Canadians on the streets...to resources, services and care in an environment that offers privacy, stability and dignity," Telus and Health for Good have set up Mobile Health Clinics that will frequent urban areas to help provide medical care for those without access to it.
In addition to offering on-the-spot care, these new Mobile Health Clinics are fitted with more sophisticated equipment and Telus medical records software, helping outreach nurses keep track of returning patients' medical history, progress and prescriptions more accurately.
