Students at Northeastern University have created quite a revolutionary protection device called the Head Impact Detection and Alert System. The helmet was a collaboration with emergency medical technicians and X-Ray specialists.
The helmet is essentially lined with tiny sensors which are able to detect brain waves and measure acceleration in the head. There is an LCD screen which also comes with the helmet which displays color according to impact. So if a severe injury happened, the screen would flash red to display the level of brain waves the helmet is receiving. Amazing!
