Architecture studio Hassell works in collaboration with 3D printing studio Nagami on the new pavilion prototype that is notably made entirely from recycled plastic materials. Hassell explains that “The design is the beginning of a larger plan to create a series of pavilions that encourage conversations around material waste and how technology can solve our planet’s most urgent problems."
The pavilion is designed with inspiration from indigenous shelters, which is a space that functions as a meeting point made for education, knowledge, and reflection. It can also be customized and altered to adjust to different climates and settings. The team worked on the pavilion as they wanted to tackle the problem of plastic and create a new way of seeing plastic in the realm of construction.
