343 Industries, the Microsoft subsidiary responsible for overseeing the development of the Halo franchise, recently launched a new mid-season update for the Halo Infinite Winter Season. This update includes a large amount of content for the game ranging from new equipment, maps, game modes, and changes to the progression system.
Some of the most notable additions with this patch include 'Firefight: King of the Hill,' which is a player-versus-environment (PvE) game mode that sees Spartans working together to survive against hordes of aliens. In terms of equipment, this update brings the 'Repair Field,' which is a deployable, attachable device that, when deployed, will emit a healing field that restores health and shields to surrounding Spartans.
Lastly, the update brings a number of changes to the Custom Game mode in Halo, such as the Forge AI Toolkit that allows the creation of bosses and high-value targets in custom games, as well as the ability to add non-player characters to custom games. To complete the custom game improvements, 343 Industries has confirmed that custom games are now eligible for players to gain experience in.
