Haider Ackermann's Spring 2014 is Full of Shimmer & Shine
Vasiliki Marapas — October 9, 2013 — Luxury
Haider Ackermann’s Spring 2014 ready to wear collection featured the designers’ signature androgynous aesthetic combined with a metallic sparkle. Models walked the runway in shimmery scarves, skirts and jackets. Among the black, Ackermann infused tones of royal blue, amethyst, violet and copper for enhanced shine. One standout piece was a menswear-inspired jacket embellished with gemstones.
Ackerman also relaxed his typically structured silhouettes by throwing in some flower-printed pleated dresses – many with sheer paneling. However, structure was still seen throughout the collection with fitted blazers, long trench coats and the skin-tight jewel tone pants. The Haider Ackerman Spring 2014 displayed some experimentation and growth from the designer – without straying too far away from his trademark: the structured gender-neutral look.
