'States United To Prevent Gun Violence' recently opened a false gun store in New York City as part of its 'Every gun has a history. Let's not repeat it' campaign, aimed at educating first time gun buyers of the dangers of owning guns.
The store was filled with hundreds of used guns, with each one coming with a description of how it was actually used to kill someone. Unbeknownst to the customers, a hidden camera was placed inside of the gun store to record their reactions as they were told the violent histories of the weapons. Most of the customers walked into the store wanting a gun for protection but ultimately had a change of heart, out of fear of possibly recreating the violent acts that they were warned about.
Experiments like this one are great reminders that guns do more harm than good.
