Kalin Ned — June 21, 2019 — Art & Design
BEYOND THE STREETS launches another graffiti exhibition and the event is running in the Twenty Five Kent building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Spotlighting more than 150 international artists, this happening is sure to promote the origins and present state of graffiti culture. adidas Skateboarding is an official partner of the show, propelling the exhibit even further into the public's eye.
The renegade art form has always been under the radar and it wasn't until recent years that it began surfacing as a 'legitimate' form of art that is openly recognized by institutions. A big push in this direction comes from BEYOND THE STREETS who not only hosts eclectic, artist-centric graffiti exhibitions but also extends the form through collaborations with contemporary streetwear brands.
The 2019 graffiti exhibition includes pioneers like Shepard Fairey, MADSAKI, Takashi Murakami, Futura and more.
