Gró Works Designs an Infill Home in Dublin, Ireland
Amy Duong — January 16, 2024 — Art & Design
Irish architectural studio Gró Works presents a look at its new compact infill home design located in Dublin. It is defined by its red brickwork and accents of metal panels with perforated accents which all form an industrial language. It is along the city's southern perimeter and is designed as such to reflect the Victorian redbrick terraces by the location.
The studio explains the structure, stating "The structural steel frame, blockwork walls, and roof timbers are exposed, expressed and celebrated where possible. Joinery pieces, warm oak floors and linings are layered upon this frame to add comfort. Custom joinery pieces allow for every corner of the dwelling to be used efficiently and practically. We believe that the project provides a potential prototype for city living where public transport and public amenity are ample."
