April Fools' Day is right around the corner, which explains the reveal of the Google Gnome. The device is essentially an outdoor version of Google Home. It's able to tell you in which direction and how fast the wind is blowing, turn on/off the hose and even let's you know which plants you can eat. Google released a short video for the Gnome which is surprisingly funny and just a bit dark in one part.
There's a decent chance some people will take the Google Gnome at face value. Tech has infiltrated every other aspect of our lives after all. Is a garden gnome with Wi-Fi really all that unbelievable? In today's day and age, no. For this year at least the Google Gnome is a joke, but who knows what 2018 and beyond will hold.
