60 Gold-Plated Leicas Made for 60 Years of Chinese Communism
Robyn Currie — January 26, 2010 — Luxury
If and when I ever require some kind of anniversary gift, I want to break the mold and have something so original and extravagant, no one will believe it exists. Maybe I will take a page out of China’s book, and gift myself a gold-plated Leica.
To mark the 60th anniversary of Communism in China, the government of that country is having 60 of these decadent cameras created. Certainly something to covet, a gold-plated Leica will be hard to come by. Unless you are a big wig in the Red Army, in which you have some explaining to do.
