The Google Go Vote Doodle Encourages Users to Do Their Civic Duty
Justin Lam — November 7, 2018 — Tech
Google Doodles generally honor a person or commemorate a historic date, but the recent Google Go Vote Doodle urges users to step away from their computer and go vote immediately. Released on November 6, 2018, for the US midterm elections, the Go Vote Doodle takes quite a departure when compared to past doodles. Instead of having artistic embellishment, this simple doodle pushes a brief message in the colorful sans-serif associated with Google.
In addition to its Go Vote Doodle, Google will also show users where they can go to vote as well as providing links to tools that will explain the voting process in both English and Spanish. Searching "how do I register to vote" or "how do I vote" will also produce state-specific instructions about deadlines, requirements, eligibility and logistics of casting a ballot.
