The Globaïa 'Welcome to the Anthropocene' is an intriguing, if not somewhat disturbing, look at the vast and rapid changes that have taken place from the dawn of the Industrial revolution to the present
Told through a series of colored lines and illuminating cartography, the film explores the advancements that the human race has achieved over the last century, as well as eluding to the somewhat haunting reality that we, as a species, are moving toward a world of diminished resources and overpopulation.
According to the film, we have shifted into a period of anthropocene, which is defined as a period of time when the geological landscape is dominated by human beings rather than natural elements.
The short film will remind you how far we have come, and how we will progress into the future if our path remains unaltered.
