Cinematic camera manufacturer 'RED' has created the world's first glasses-free holographic phone.
This exciting new product, named the 'Hydrogen Phone,' will run on Android. RED promises the device will have a "professional hydrogen holographic display" and that it will "seamlessly [switch] between traditional 2D content, 3D content, and interactive games." The screen will be capable of displaying 2D, 3D, augmented reality and mixed reality content. The phone can also convert stereo sound into 5.1 surround sound. With two versions available for purchase now, this glasses-free holographic phone will ship in the first financial quarter of 2018.
While more detail specifications have not yet been released, the teaser image of the phone shows an industrial-looking device with a menacing red button. From the image, it can also be seen that there will be a number of ports for modular accessories.
