New world No. 1 tennis pin up Rafael Nadal recently spent more than $7,950 on a painting of Marilyn Monroe. Rafael Nadal said he doesn’t know much about art, but was dazzled by the gold, jewels and other precious stones encrusting the piece ‘Marilyn Rock’ created by the renowned Italian artist Daniel Donde.
The tennis hero acquired the ‘Marilyn Rock’ painting on the advice of art collector and Donde’s agent, Daniel Muszkat. "My agent Carlos Costa introduced me to him and I just loved that painting," he said. "Not that I am very much into art but I do like these things and specially paintings."
Daniel Donde’s latest Glam Rock Art creations have stirred a loyal following among the internationally Famous VIP’s Arnold Schwarzenegger, Simon le Bon, Sophia Loren, Flavio Briatore, Roger Moore, Roman Abromivich, Prince Albert of Monaco and Giorgio Armani have purchased works by the artist.
It’s pleasing to know, not only has Rafa provided and invested so much to tennis and sport as a whole, but he has now also dipped his toes into the art world. If only we ladies and some gentlemen could be as seductive to Rafa as the Marilyn Rock painting was to him...
