Gates Croquet is a design project from Romain Lagrange that lets you play croquet indoors. For those who have never played croquet, it is a massive game designed to be played by multiple participants outdoors. If you don't have a big enough yard or if the weather is nasty outside, then it is difficult to partake in the fun.
Gates Croquet changes all of that by shrinking the game and making it playable indoors. Gates Croquet's mallets, rings and balls are made out of sycamore, maple, cork and leather. The cork mallets and balls are perfectly suited for indoor play as they are soft enough to not damage walls or furniture. The wooden rings are strong enough to stand on their own without needing to be pounded into the ground. When you are done playing, the entire set can be easily broken down and stored. Looks like winter croquet will be making a comeback.
