Copenhagen-based designer Ellinor Ericsson recently created a colorful set of gigantic furniture that features fun cross-stitch patterns. Ericsson felt that Nordic furniture designs often lack interesting ornaments and colorful decoration. She thus created the cross-stitched set as a way of adding a touch of whimsy to contemporary Nordic designs.
The colorful furniture is a blend of both Rococo elements and Nordic designs. Each oversized piece features fun cross-stitch patterns that have been woven into the birch wood frame. The stitching is made from wool and is woven in a Scandinavian-inspired pattern. The shape of the furniture itself is modeled after classic Rococo designs.
