The Fruit and Vegetable Peels Cups may look as though they were inspired by food for looks alone, but their organic appearance is for a purely practical reason. The collection was inspired by eating sweet potato. The designer writes, "It is observed that people would use the peels of the sweet potato or fruits as 'utensils' as eating them." In this way, the texture of the cups provide a tactile protection from liquid that is too hot.
Designed by ViiChen Design, the Fruit and Vegetable Peels Cups are made up of six different looks. Made out of porcelain, clean white surfaces are maintained in order to ensure that the pieces are as elegant as their are functional. The sensory experience may even bring up pleasant memories.
