Italian design partners Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin, of Formafantasma, created 'From Then On,' a time-themed installation on display in the Established & Sons' showroom.
With its tenth anniversary looming, Established & Sons wanted to examine the passage of time in an inventive, unexpected way. The clocks included in the installation mark time in their own distinctive manner, each utilizing a different material. The first clock is fashioned from Carrara marble; the disk is then split into an interior circular section, and secondary, encompassing ring. It features an obtrusive seam, which rotates to signify the passing of an hour.
Another clock is made from two saxophones, which are attached onto a frame. The instruments are made to sound every 15 minutes, with the intention of declaring, and celebrating, ephemeral moments throughout daily life.
