Parents are increasingly becoming dissatisfied with products for infants that only serve a single purpose or stage, which is seeing solutions like 'From Cradle to Cradle' be designed to help solve this issue.
The furniture piece starts off with a bassinet design for infants up to six months of age before being transitioned into a crib for children up to two years of age. The unit is then capable of being transformed into a set of chairs when it's no longer needed for a child to help extend the life of the product exponentially. The crib is crafted using American red oak.
'From Cradle to Cradle' is the design work of Celia Martínez Otaduy, Daniel Romero Pérez, and María Ruiz de Elvira Nadal, and was submitted to the Toca Madera competition that's organized by the Association of Industrial Design Engineers (AIDI) and the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC).
