Although only 25 years old, Anthony Kosar, a former Stan Winston intern and president of Kosart Effects Studio, has accomplished more than most can only dream to do.
Kosar has worked on Indiana Jones 4 and James Cameron's movie Avatar, sculpted Halloween masks for Zagone Studios and illustrated for characters like the The Spider, The Phantom and Buckaroo Banzai. Several of his fine art paintings and illustrations have received international and national awards. Perhaps his most fascinating accomplishment, however, is Boaris Frankenswine. As you can see in the photos above by Bear McGivney, Kosar started with an innocuous pig created by Acme Design and, working in painstaking detail, created the pig of nightmares.
The best part is that it's all for a good cause. St.Alphonsus and St. Patrick's Grade School in Lemont, Illinois will benefit from the auction of this one-of-a-kind Boaris Frankenswine sculpture. The piece measures 30 inches by 30.5 inches by 32 inches, and is life-sized, hand-sculpted and hand-painted.
