Revealed at Photokina 2018, the new Leica Fotos app lets photographers control their Leica cameras with their smartphone. Available for iOS and Android devices, the app gives users full control over various features of their camera, including remote shutter control, touch to focus features, and exposure and sharpness data. According to Stefan Daniel, Leica's Global Director Product Division Photo, the app has been "redesigned from scratch to match the design our customers know and love from our hardware."
Owners of the Leica S, SL, M10, TL2, CL and other recent cameras will also be able to use the Fotos app to transfer photos onto their phone. Support for other models will follow and will replace a host of other Leica apps released in the past. The app will be available to the public on October 24, 2018, with a live beta-test occurring shortly.
