Studio Yumakano presents a new way to work with materials without harming the environment with the progressive new ForestBank material. It is a unique new way that gathering scraps that are deemed 'worthless' at construction processes -- this includes seed, small trees, soil, bark, foliage, and more. The studio then blends together these materials with a reactive mineral base along with the water-based acrylic resin.
The result is a unique-looking natural terrazzo-like style that may look different depending on the season that the ForestBank is developed and collected. For example, the yellow and green leaves are more prominent in certain seasons whereas orange and brown will be standout when the seasons change. Additionally, bacteria found in nature will also affect the colors of the trees.
