UK-based inventor Ben Strange created a foldable food container that follows the design of origami to create a slimmed-down profile when not in use.
The 'FoldFlat' plastic food container is made with strategically placed folds that allow it to flatten into its lid for easy storage without causing any clutter. When it is being used, the foldable food container measures in at around 54 ounces of capacity and about 2.55 inches deep. When folded away, the entire container only takes up 0.82 inches of space -- around the size of a typical paperback novel.
Each foldable food container is also completely watertight, and is safe to use both in the microwave as well as being cleaned in the dishwasher. The containers are also available with either a white or blue turquoise trim depending on preference.
