Daniel Johnson — July 22, 2019 — Tech
Samsung has recently filed a patent for foldable AR glasses, the pair gives the appearance of conventional glasses but with a thicker design. The glasses' thicker design is due to the intricate electronic components included in the design. According to the patent, the glasses will feature a design that turns on the display in the lenses when the glasses are unfolded. The design also features a projector on one of the arms of the Foldable AR glasses. the projector would be able to transfer images into the display. Magnetic sensors will make sure the device does not accidentally turn off.
The AR glasses are just a prototype and may never reach production. Samsung has not indicated any plans for the pair going forward.
