Nothing is fresher than a scenic park--apart from a park with fresh scenic ideas. With an innovative yet charming approach to public furniture, Anouk Vogel and Johan Selbing introduce a romantic English style with their smooth 'Vondel Verses' design.
Winner of the 2007-09 renovation competition for the Vondelpark in Amsterdam, the graceful project merges furniture with the flora and fauna of the park, allowing nature to absorb the novelty of these creations. The project features magnificent motifs of floral benches and kiosks as well as blossoming lamp posts with faux pigeons on their buds.
The shadowy matte surfaces fuse the traditional with the contemporary, creating an atmosphere that one may imagine enchanted; as if the furniture is one gust of wind away from coming to life.
