Originally launched in Germany, the FlixBus service aims to enhance bus travel by incorporating elements of Uber or Lyft. Working as a middleman, the bus service doesn't operate its own fleet. Instead, the service works with passengers and independent transportation companies. This allows the FlixBus service to offer flexible pricing based on distance and demand. In Europe, the service currently has close to 300 partners and is able to offer incredibly cheap prices for extended travels.
Having achieved considerable success in Europe, the FlixBus service is now planning an expansion into the US. The service currently has partnerships with six bus lines including, Arrow Stage Lines, American Explorer Motorcoach, Gray Line Arizona, Pacific Coachways, Transportation Charter Services and USA Coach Services. FlixBus will work closely with these partners to ensure a level of luxury on the busses including, free Wi-Fi, power outlets and USB ports for every seat.
