The packaging for Five Boros Chocolate is inspired by the five boroughs of New York City. Since each area has its own flavor, it's only natural that someone would interpret them as something food-related. Granted, not all New Yorkers would agree to the use of chocolate. That said, the Five Boros Chocolate manages to pick out some interesting points around the city. The designer writes, "In this case Dark Chocolate Crunch represents Brooklyn because there is a lot of dark chocolate around here of many consistencies."
Accompanied by a two color screen print of a map, Five Boros Chocolate also encourages people to get to know the Big Apple in a more intimate way -- with something sweet to munch on. Designed by Pratt Institute student Nel Sparkman, the packaging could easily be a keepsake.
