Design house Berman Horn Studio has transformed a 19th-century farmhouse in Columbia County, New York into a charming contemporary abode.
The project was lead by husband and wife architects Maria Berman and Brad Horn, whose intention was to create a romantic and modern interpretation of the classic country home. The designers embraced every awkward quark about the home and left as much of the original house as they could.
The original asphalt roof shingles were replaced with eastern white pine wood shingles, which softens the exterior. While the door is painted in a vibrant Van Gogh Yellow. The home sits on a large lot which has all been carefully landscaped to create a whimsical surrounding.
