This Fan-Fiction-Inspired Movie Poster Will Have Girls Buzzing
Angela Rajic — November 13, 2013 — Pop Culture
Movie posters are a common, but essential element of marketing a movie, but this fan made movie poster found (mistakenly) in a theater in Shanghai takes promotional material to a whole new level of eye-catching amusement.
In anticipation for the premiere of Thor: The Dark World, the sequel to Marvel’s sequel to the successful Thor and Avengers movies, one Chinese fan took one of the original movie posters and altered it, with rather entertaining results. The original poster featured Chris Hemsworth’s Thor wrapping his arms protectively around his lady-love Jane Foster (played by Natalie Portman). The fan photoshopped Portman out of the poster, and replaced her with the villain Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston in the film.
This fan made movie poster is a playful shout-out to the mostly female fan base of Loki, and especially those who are proponents of the Thor/Loki romantic pairing frequently seen in online fan fiction. This fan made poster will illicit laughs from casual viewers and make fans of the pairing giggle in delight.
