Designer Benjamin Graindorge has put together a stunning repurposed wooden bench entitled Fallen Tree that repurposes a sapling into stylishly modern yet simplistic seat. The bench features the tree on its side transforming the trunk into a flat surface that can be used as seating.
Graindorge's project captures both the living and anatomical aspects to wood with his bench design. The left side of the piece keeps intact the foundation of the sapling with its warped branches varying in color and texture. The branches turn into the trunk that is then sanded and flattened down to create the seating surface. The right side matches the branches in hight with a clear glass leg.
The Fallen Tree will be available for viewers to see at the YMER&MALTA gallery in Paris during the FIAC 2015 event.
