The Facebook ThreatExchange Platform functions as a mini-social network for cyber security professionals to communicate amongst each other. The hope is that these various experts will be able to learn from one another, keeping the Internet that much more secure and safe for everyone else.
Facebook manager of threat infrastructure Mark Hammel explained, "Our goal is that organizations anywhere will be able to use ThreatExchange to share threat information more easily, learn from each other's discoveries and make their own systems safer."
Since security threats target a wide range of systems, increased communication will only aid in managing them. So far, those who have joined the Facebook ThreatExchange include big names, such as Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter and Yahoo.
