Weronika Krzemieniecka Experiments with Face Surface Imprints
References: behance.net & themag.it
Polish artist and photographer Weronika Krzemieniecka compares the imprints of facial features in sand with the craters left behind by meteorites in her image series titled Face Surface.
By photographing the images in black and white, the artist manages to enhance the dark shadows, creating a play with light and darkness that defies perspective. Because of this technique, the photographs appear to be giant craters taken from a bird’s-eye-view instead of tiny marks left behind by a face. If you look closely, you may be able to discern the imprints of ears, noses and mouths in different positions in the sand.
The creative Weronika Krzemieniecka leaves her mark with her lunar-style Face Surface photography series.
