Fabian Burgy might be an artist, but some may very well call him a magician. A master of optical illusions, he focuses on creating striking monochromatic scenes that take over gallery rooms in the most enchanting ways. Although almost always dealing in the surreal, Fabian Burgy is inspired by mundane things including everythign from chairs and suicide belts to tire marks and holes.
Leaving much of the interpretation in the minds of his audience, Fabian Burgy's art installations are as subjective as they are minimalist and monochromatic. Beautiful Decay writes, "There is a tension in his work, or a feeling of being unsettled, but the feeling is not so uncomfortable it can’t be enjoyed. Bürgy is able to straddle many contradictions – stillness and movement; familiarity and strangeness; function and non function; real and virtual."
