FabFilter, the software company behind the widely used Pro Series of audio software tools, has released a long-awaited second update to the award-winning Saturn plug-in. The update expands Saturn's digital multi-band distortion and saturation algorithms and overhauls its user interface, improving everything from audio processing to personal workflow.
The Saturn 2 update boasts a variety of new distortion and modulation features for expanded functionality and creativity, almost doubling the number of distortion styles from 16 to 28. The new styles include 'Subtle' versions of existing distortion types, British and American guitar amplifier styles, abrasive Transformer styles, and FX styles. Updates to the modulation menu now include: better envelope curve control, discrete band routing as trigger inputs for envelope signals, auto detection for transient signals in envelope triggers, and a new XY controller slider mode for single axis control.
