Rob Papen, a company known for virtual synthesizers and effects, has now released the update for the Blade 2 additive synthesizer. Originally released in 2012, the second edition of Blade brings a variety of new updates, which enhance the experimental interactive possibilities of the plug-in.
Recognizable by the centered XY programmable pad, Blade 2 maintains the original experience of modulating internal components while upgrading the sound design capabilities. The virtual synth now includes an Additive Mode that allows you to morph and mix between four additive waveforms, along with an option to edit and create personal waveforms. The update also includes a new wave-analyze section that can generate new waveforms from sample data that can then be used in both the Additive Mode and the Harmolator Mode.
The update brings many other new options including: three multi-FX processors, additional analog and noise oscillators, 32 different filter types, and new XY positioning and ratcheting functions for the synth's arpeggiator section.
Blade 2 is now available through Rob Papen's website as a digital download, or digital upgrade.
