The Extinked Tattoo collaboration is one the most ingenious ways of protest and social discourse ever. Artist Collective Ultimate Holding Company designed 100 tattoos representing 100 endangered species, and held a contest to choose willing participants.
Each person chosen had to write an essay to the individual tattoo artist about why they should be picked as the ambassador of a particular species. All of the tattoo designs were on display throughout the process, so you didn’t necessarily have to get an Extinked tattoo to enjoy what was going on.
