The eTrain deadliest jobs chart looks at the number of fatalities that occur on the job within the United States.
According to the study, 39 percent of incidents are transportation related, and 21 percent of those are related to highway crashes. This is followed by 18 percent being contributed by assaults and violent acts. The third largest contributor of accidents is in the labor field, and is related to machinery and equipment.
It’s also worth noting that a large percentage of injuries occur in men. Women have an eight percent likelihood of having fatal injuries, in comparison to 92 percent of men. The study also finds that those over the age of 45 are more susceptible to being injured while on the job.
