Californian-based GIS market leader Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri) has released an update for its US Census Bureau data through the ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World information collection.
This update includes attributes of the Census Bureau's newly issued 2014-2018 American Community Survey (ACS). By providing accurate accounts of US community demographics, housing, and workforce, the ACS data can help both the public and private sectors understand changes within their communities.
Esri's Living Atlas update provides 78 data layers, covering 89 different ACS tables that dynamically reflect the most current information and help to automate those changes within designed information systems.
The update provides improved metadata attribute descriptions, options for "highlight layers" that group attributes by topic, and new layers that include data on: Education by Veteran Status, Population in Limited-English Households, Age Group by Labor Force Participation, School Enrollment, Heating Fuel Type by Tenure, and Housing Costs as a Percentage of Income by Age and Tenure.
Living Atlas, and the newly updated ACS data, can be accessed through Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online products.
