Gfinity's War Child FC FIFA Tournament was hosted in London last summer and showcased the esports organization's dedication to gaming for a good cause. The event was live-streamed to audiences on Gfinity's Twitch channel and included competitors ranging from pro FIFA gamers to celebrities.
"Football is a fantastic way to provide support and for War Child staff to gain the trust of children living in war-torn countries who encounter atrocities as part of their daily lives," said Gfinity's Head of Communications Shaun White about the organization's decision to partner with War Child.
The money raised during the event was donated to war-affected children and was also supported by game developer Nordeus who launched an exclusive in-game War Child FC football kit for fans. Additionally, those watching the stream were able to donate via Twitch as well as via text.
