Black and Red And a Runway of Florals at Erdem Fall 2009 Show
In Germany they say ladybugs are a sign of luck. I say any woman that gets the chance to dress herself in Erdem's Fall 2009 collection must be a lady of luck herself. The stunning show included two dazzling dresses of brilliant red and bold black lace, the first even baring a pattern that slightly resembled the wings of lady bug across the skirt. The yellow and black could stir comparisons to yellow ladybugs, but bees would also be in line with the ethereal insect theme.
The rest of Erdem's collection was saturation with florals and fabrics with patterns reminiscent of impressionist paintings.
In their review of the show, Style.com named Erdem Moralioglu the "Christian Lacroix of London," an incredibly honorable comparison, but a fitting one nonetheless.
