Mozilla has launched an innovative email extension service that is designed to make it possible for users to go about creating alias email addresses that forward content over to their primary email, allowing them to protect their main email address from scammers, spam accounts and identity thieves.
The 'Firefox Relay' email extension service is available in both free and premium versions. The free version allows users to use five active burner addresses with a limit of 150 kilobytes for attachments. The premium service, which is available in the U.S. and Canada as well as select countries around Europe and Asia, offers unlimited burner addresses for only $0.99 per month.
Given the fact that people often need to sign up for subscriptions or newsletters but would rather not receive junk mail and other nefarious content from providers, it is expected that the 'Firefox Relay' email extension service will find many keen users.
