Located in Curanipe, Chile and designed by WMR Arquitectos, this elevated building is a warehouse-inspired hotel that embodies an industrial design style.
The Punta Sirena Hotel is mainly designed to encourage water sports and is located on a beach. The fact that the building is elevated was a purposeful construction designed to avoid an excessive amount of damage in the extreme weather that may affect the region -- including earthquakes and tsunamis. The glass windows are also designed to break in the case of a tsunami, which would work to prevent resistance and further destruction of the property.
The elevated building is complete with a wooden interior that boasts plenty of light, helping to provide a welcoming atmosphere despite the risks of the location.
