Uncertain times have led to people around the globe practicing social distancing -- Elena Lasaite's emotional first aid kit was created in response to the loneliness that can result from self-isolation.
The inflatable vest can be worn around one's chest, and was designed with the specific intention of simulating a hug, addressing consumers' emotional needs during these trying times. What's interesting about the vest is that its design is reminiscent of life vests. This, according to the designer, was done with the intention of likening one's emotional health, to one's physical health and safety.
The vest has four settings: 'confident,' 'inlove,' 'energetic,' and 'calm.' The vest aims to address social issues, while bridging the gap between human and manmade solutions to feelings of loneliness.
