I can't help but sigh when I look at this eco-friendly ranch house. It looks like an adult version of a wooden treehouse -- except it's a million times more luxurious and utterly charming.
This 4,000 square foot 'Green Lantern Residence' is nestled in San Antonio, Texas. Designed to take on its stunningly lush, natural-surrounding and free-loving vibe, this eco-friendly ranch house even overlooks the Olmos Basin and views of downtown San Antonio. Perfect, right?
Designed by San Antonio-based studio John Grable Architects, the home was renovated from its original 1948 ranch style home -- but the architects made sure to keep some authentic touches. With wall-to-wall door to let the sunlight in and the residents out into their playfully designed outdoor area -- with a grotto waterfall and hot tub and all -- this house has it all.
“The new construction was designed to re-use the existing foundation, and wood from the previous structure was recycled and re-used," says the design team about the home's sustainable natures.
